Return to Boating Safety

Vessel Safety Survey (VSS)

Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue (RCM-SAR) Station 27 crews are out on the water spreading the safe boating message through the Vessel Safety Survey program. At the invitation of vessel operators, our crew will conduct a quick informal safety survey of your vessel. The service is provided to you for free.

Our crews will be reminding vessel operators of basic safety practices specific to their vessel and handing out essential boating safety supplies. We are pleased to answer any safety related questions that vessel operators may have.

Our crews are highly trained in search and rescue and extremely knowledgeable when about safe boating practices. They’ve seen it all! Nobody is better equipped to provide tips and spread the message of safe boating than the volunteers who are committed to saving lives on the water throughout British Columbia.
